How can I tell if I’ve used a Nickname already without evolving?

You can tell if you used a Nickname already by attempting to use it. If the desired evolution’s silhouette does not appear on the evolve button, then you’ve already used that Nickname before to guarantee that evolution.

For example, if you are trying to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon using the Nickname trick, you would see Leafeon’s silhouette.

Is there anyway to guarantee Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon?

The only way to guarantee Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon is using the nickname trick. Each name will only work the first time it is used.

What time is considered day/night to evolve Espeon/Umbreon?

Day and night are based your local time. But they can be determined by looking at the environment and sky in-game. If it’s day in-game, you can evolve in to an Espeon. If it’s night in-game, you can evolve in to an Umbreon. Another way to check is to look at the silhouette on the evolve button to see which evolution the game will give you.

How do I obtain a Mossy Lure Module/Glacial Lure Module?

Occasionally they are given as rewards in Field Research and Special Research so you might already have one in your item bag. Otherwise, you can purchase them in the in-game shop.

If I already earned 70 hearts with Sylveon, do I have to earn them again?

Yes, the Evolution Task is not retroactive. They are similar to Pancham where you need to ‘Catch 32 Dark-type Pokémon’ or Swirlix where you need to ‘Give your buddy 25 treats’. However, there is no progress bar for Sylveon.

Once you earn 70 hearts, a separate evolution button will appear for Sylveon. You can also switch Eevee out as your buddy and the number of hearts will continue to be tracked.

I’m not near a PokeStop with the right lure, can I still use the nickname trick to evolve a Glaceon or Leafeon for the first time?

Yes, the nickname trick does not have any other requirements. You just need to nickname your Eevee. Make sure to check the silhouette on the evolve button that you have the evolution or haven’t used that name already.
